Local riders out to impress at MX nationals─── MORGAN PIEK 15:10 Thu, 22 Oct 2020
Local riders are ready and itching to go ahead of this weekends’ double-header SA National Motocross Championships at the Tempe MX track in Bloemfontein.
Unfortunately, the former South African champion, Tyson Engelbrecht, is not competing after a crash earlier in the year brought his season to a premature end.
Bloemfontein does however boast with several other top riders in the country, and they are keen to impress on Saturday and Sunday.
Johan Vogelesang who rides in the MX1 class told OFM Sport that he wants to end the season on a high.
“The weekend we have the last two rounds of the national championship taking place at the Tempe motocross track, and this event will be quite unique.
“It will be a double-header with us racing on both Saturday and Sunday, which will be quite demanding on the riders.
“With all of the top riders being in attendance I’m sure we will see some good racing and I am looking forward to ending the season on a high.”
The gates at Tempe drop at 9:30 on Saturday morning.
