Allergy sufferers take note: this week’s Pollen Report from the University of Cape Town Lung Institute shows that in Bloemfontein, tree pollen levels remain high, dominated by Buddleja and plane pollen. Other flowering trees include ash, oak, cypress, and pine... Grass and weed levels remain low and and mould levels, extremely low.
In Kimberley, low levels of all pollen and moulds were detected. Tree pollen types include white mulberry and pine. No weed pollen was detected and grass levels remain low.
Tree pollen counts continue to be very high in Gauteng, Bloemfontein and Cape Town. Grass levels as well as mould levels remain low, except in Durban where significant levels of the allergenic spores Cladosporium and Epicoccum were detected.
