South Africans celebrate National Women's Day to commemorate women and the role they have played and still play in the country. On 9 August 1956 about 20 000 women from all walks of life marched to Pretoria's Union Buildings.
They presented the Prime Minister at the time, JG Strijdom with a petition against the carrying of passes.
OFM News' Christal-Lize Muller spoke to the MEC of Agriculture and Rural Development in the Free State, Benny Malakoane, about women in agriculture.
