Grain SA’s CEO, Jannie de Villiers, also attended the media information session held in Pretoria this week.
During the session, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Senzeni Zokwana, and other stakeholders in the industry gave a joint update on the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak in the Vhembe district in Limpopo.
De Villiers said the summer grain crop season did not start well due to late rains and there are still major challenges facing crop producers.
