The Department of Water and Sanitation urges irrigation farmers in the Free State, Northern Cape and North West to stick to their existing water quotas.

Sputnik Ratau, spokesperson of the department, says although it has rained in areas in the central interior, farmers should still take into account that the overall level of dams at this stage is lower compared to levels last year.  He says the overall level of dams in the three provinces has also declined compared to levels last week.
