Johannesburg - The headline Consumer Price Index annual inflation rate in October 2016 was 6.4%.
This is 0.3 of a percentage point higher than the corresponding annual rate of 6.1% in September 2016.
Stats SA further announced that on average, prices increased by 0.5% between September 2016 and October 2016.
In October the CPI for goods increased to 7.1% year-on-year, up from 6.6 percent in September, and the CPI for services increased to 5.8 percent year-on-year, up from 5.6 percent in September.
