Suspects busted with ARV's in court today | News Article

Two men, aged 33 and 45, will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court today after they were arrested with ARV tablets worth R1.2 million.

The suspects were arrested at the Bloemfontein railway station on Thursday, after an intelligence-led police investigation.

Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, says the two were moving the pills that were reportedly destined for the Zastron Clinic in the Free State to the Eastern Cape.

The Eastern Cape department of health spokesperson, Siyanda Manana, confirmed one suspect to be an employee at the Robert Majoro clinic in the Eastern Cape.

The MEC of Police in the Free State, Sam Mashinini, said if there are more health department officials involved they will also face the full might of the law.
