F4SD demands interim report from Zondo Commission

F4SD demands interim report from Zondo Commission | News Article

Forum 4 Service Delivery (F4SD) picketed at the Zondo Commission of Inquiry in Johannesburg on Wednesday, demanding an interim report.

F4SD leader Mbahare Kekana said they had noted that the Zondo Commission has been granted an extension until the end of March 2020.

"What is more painful is the high costs incurred since the inception of the Zondo Commission. Hence we as F4SD held a picket at the premises of the State Capture Commission on 26 February after [Minister Ronald] Lamola responded that R356.127m had been spent since the commission's establishment."

Kekana said R244.5 million was spent in the 2018/19 financial year, and R111.5 million in the current year up until 31 August.

He said the money spent thus far could have been channelled to service delivery.

The party called for an interim report, evidence to be handed over to the police, and the National Prosecuting Authority for action.

F4SD appeals to Zondo Commission to be different from other futile commissions our country had before. The money spent thus far could have been channelled to service delivery.
