An eight-year-old learner at the Tsholetseng Primary School in Bloemfontein has been confirmed dead while six other learners have been admitted to hospital. This, after alleged food poisoning is suspected at the school.
The Free State Department of Education’s Spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says the cause of death is still unknown. He, however, says information at their disposal indicates that the learner shared chocolate with another learner before she suffered from what appeared to be epilepsy. Ndaba confirms six other fellow learners are still receiving medical treatment.
This comes days after another child tragedy on Monday when a taxi overturned outside Tweespruit and a child died after being trapped under the vehicle.
