The return of the Proteas fast bowler, Dale Steyn, won’t be giving the VKB Knights sleepless nights ahead of their Ram Slam T20 Challenge clash against the Titans in Kimberley on Wednesday evening.

The Phalaborwa Express has been side-lined for approximately a year with a shoulder injury and will be making his long-awaited return to the sport.

The Titans are the team to beat after round one of the competition, following their 8-wicket win over the Highveld Lions.

The Knights, in their turn, also got off to a flying start with an 8-wicket drubbing of the Warriors in Port Elizabeth.

The captain, Theunis de Bruyn, who scored an unbeaten 78, told OFM Sport that Steyn is just a name in the team.

“I haven’t even heard anything regarding Dale Steyn. He is just another player and obviously he has got a reputation.

“The rest of the Titans players also have a reputation.

“We’re not playing against names, we are playing against an opposition with a bat and a ball.

“We’re just going to play the moment and hopefully just get in there.

Wednesday evening’s clash at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley gets underway at 18:00.

VKB Knights - Marchant de Lange, Andries Gous, Eddie Leie, Theunis de Bruyn (captain), Patrick Kruger, Ryan McLaren, David Miller, Grant Mokoena, Tshepo Ntuli, Duanne Olivier, Keegan Petersen, Aubrey Swanepoel, Shadley van Schalkwyk.

Titans - Farhaan Behardien, Junior Dala, Henry Davids, Albie Morkel (captain), Quinton de Kock, AB de Villiers, Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi, Malusi Siboto, Dale Steyn, David Wiese.
