Half centuries by Rudi Second, Patrick Kruger, Grant Mokoena and Andries Gous yesterday layed the groundwork for what would be a 75-run One Day Cup victory for the VKB Knights over the Cape Cobras in Bloemfontein.

A solid batting performance by the home side saw them race to 320 for 4 in their allotted 50 overs placing immediate pressure on the Cobras in their turn at the crease.

It then became the Eddie Leie and Mbulelo Budaza show as the bowlers picked up 7 wickets between them reducing the visitors to 245 all out after 41.4 overs in turn securing a bonus point win for Nicky Boje and his team.

The win sees the Bloemfontein based side move to 11 points on the One Day Cup log and although they remain in the last position, they are now only two points behind the Warrior who occupy the 4th and final spot for knockouts.

The side next face the very Warriors team that stand in their way of qualification when they clash in East London on Wednesday.
