An unbeaten 64 runs by Protea T20 Captain JP Duminy and a 69 runs off 30 deliveries by Heinrich Klaasen blasted the Proteas to a 6-wicket victory over India in the 2nd T20 international that was played at Supersport Park in Centurion last night.

After struggling in the initial stages of their innings, the visitors managed a healthy 188-run total in their 20 overs but in their turn at the crease, the Proteas for the first time in their limited overs campaign showed attacking prowess.

Earning himself the man of the match award for his knock with the bat, Klaasen says it was important to bat well, and that’s exactly what they did and should do as a team.

Earning himself the man of the match award for his knock with the bat, Klaasen says it was important to bat well and that’s exactly what they did and should do as a team going forward.

The wicketkeeper-batsman says: "For me, it's very important to keep the momentum, they (India) are very skilful bowlers so it's not easy to get a run a ball."

"The way we batted was a good way to chase the total, keeping up with the rate and with the Duckworth Lewis is very important and it's maybe something to think about going forward," Klaasen said.

The win levels the 3 match series at 1-1 which essentially makes Saturday’s 3rd and final T20 at Newlands in Cape Town the series decider.
