From Ariana Grande's broken silence to Caster Semenya

Ariana Grande has broken her silence

This is  following Mac Miller's passing. The 'no tears left to cry' hitmaker took to Instagram  to pay tribute to her ex-boyfriend, who passed away after a suspected overdose on Friday (07.09.18).

Taking to the photo sharing site, she simply posted a candid picture of Mac.

Ariana has continued to block comments on her Instagram account after vile trolls blamed her for Mac's death, with fans leaving nasty messages including "This is your fault" and "You did this to him".

Miller (real name: Malcolm James McCormick) was pronounced dead at his Studio City, California home, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE. A cause of death is yet to be determined, but a source tells PEOPLE the rapper had gone into cardiac arrest after appearing to suffer a drug overdose.

All about the laughs

Comedians at the 8th annual South African Comics Choice Awards say the comedy industry in most African countries continues to grow positively.

The awards were held at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City recently.

It was a star-studded night of hilarity which celebrates comedians not only from South Africa but also those from other African countries.

Kansiime Anne, also known as Uganda’s queen of comedy, says she's simply honoured to be nominated in this category.

“It’s really possible. If you’ve been able to breakthrough in all the other different careers that were no-go for women, and I’m a perfect example, I’m telling you it’s doable.”

Local comedian Phil de Lange won  the Next Level prize at the awards he will also be featured in Trevor Noah Presents NationWild, a 13-part comedy showcase coming to Showmax this Heritage Day, September 24, 2018.

Stop that thief!

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has been labelled a hero after apprehending an intruder.

On the 4th August, Jamie caught a burglar trying to break into his R180m home in North London.

His wife, Jools and their five kids were all asleep when the incident occurred, The Sun reports.

"Jamie was set to investigate but before he knew it, he was face-to-face with the burglar himself as he tried to smash his way into the house," a source told The Mirror.

The celebrity chef then chased the burglar down the street and, once he caught the thief, pinned him down.

He was joined by a handful of neighbours who helped him hold the burglar down until the police arrived.

Sources reveal that the intruder also broke into Kate Moss’ house, but aren’t sure if the 44-year-old model was at home at the time.

DJ Black Coffee does it again

For the second year in a row local DJ Black Coffee has walked away as the winner of the Deep House DJ category at the International DJ Awards.

Founded by Ibiza organizer Jose Pascual and producer and record label owner Lenny Krarup, the DJ Awards has been the only one of its kind since 1998.

Tweeting about his achievement, Black Coffee wrote: “Honoured to be named the Best Deep House DJ for the second year in a row at the DJ Awards… it wouldn’t be possible without your love and support! It means the world.”

Trump might be in trouble

Adult film star Stormy Daniels said she will publish an autobiography detailing her alleged affair with President Donald Trump in October, shortly before key US midterm elections.

Daniels, who says she had an affair with Trump in 2006, around the time that the reality television star's wife Melania had given birth to their son Barron, said she would dedicate the book entitled "Full Disclosure", to her young daughter.

"I'm gonna write everything and include it and people can think what they want about me but at least it's the truth , it's not like that they haven't been thinking that about me anyway," she said.

Daniels said the book, due to hit the shelves on October 2, would fill in details that were cut from her interview with the CBS show 60 Minutes earlier this year.

\Well done Caster

As a Nike advert featuring South African running sensation Caster Semenya went viral online, her partner Violet Raseboya has hailed the star as an inspiration who never fails to surprise.

While thousands of social media fans have responded to the advert, Caster's wife Violet took to Instagram to gush over her partner.

In a love letter to Caster she thanked the star for teaching her the importance of not listening to hate or holding onto someone who does not respect you.

"You taught me something about life: I mustn't lose myself trying to hold onto someone who doesn't care about losing me. I must always hold to God and You did the same," she said in the letter.
