SA born actress Jenique Hendrix had everyone talking when she hit the big screen to star alongside the likes of Mark Wahlberg and John Malkovich in Hollywood blockbuster Mile 22.

The film, which debuted in SA cinemas on 7 September, follows the life of elite intelligence officer James Silva (played by Mark Wahlberg) who, with the help of a top-secret tactical team, must smuggle a foreign intelligence asset from Southeast Asia to an airfield 22 miles away.

A task that proves even more difficult when Silva and his team members find themselves going up against the military in a race against time.

Meghan Markle's sister back to bashing Meghan and her man...

Meghan's husband Prince Harry turned 34 recently and Samantha Markle took to Twitter to make a swipe at the royal family's silent treatment on her father, Thomas Markle. "Happy Birthday Harry!" she tweeted. "As you 'mack down' on your birthday cake, think about the birthday wishes you never extended to your FATHER-IN-LAW."

The "Happy Birthday" tweet to Prince Harry isn't the first time Samantha has put the royals on blast. On Meghan's birthday on Aug. 4, she tweeted similar words. "Happy Birthday Meg! It would be so lovely and appropriate of you to send DAD a BELATED birthday card for his July 18th," she wrote.

Another message read, "Act like a humanitarian act like a woman! If our father dies I'm holding you responsible, Meg! @KensingtonRoyal."

Ladysmith Black Mambazo founder is fine

Sandile Khumalo of the Ladysmith Black Mambazo group has shut down reports that founder Joseph Shabalala is "critically ill" insisting that he is recovering from an operation.

Sandile asked fans not to panic over reports that Joseph's health was deteriorating.

"No, he's not so critical. He's still going to therapy (to walk). Yes, he is not very well because sometimes he forgets other things, then his memory slowly come back. He's old, but he's not critical. He's had an operation and he's been going to therapy to help him walk."

Sunday Sun reported that the iconic musician's health was "deteriorating" and that in addition to not being able to walk without help, he also has a hearing problem.

The Ladysmith Black Mambazo member said Joseph was well taken care off.

"There's really no need to panic at all. There's an in-house doctor that is available to care for him and help him with everything he needs."

Avril Lavigne is back

Her first single in five years will blow fans out of the water.

After weeks of social media promotion, Lavigne just released "Head Above Water" from her upcoming album. She co-wrote the ballad with Travis Clarke and Stephan Moccio, its producer.

In a letter to her fans published last week, she wrote, "I spent the last few years at home sick fighting Lyme Disease. Those were the worst years of my life as I went through both physical and emotional battles. I was able to turn that fight into music I'm really proud of. I wrote songs in my bed and on the couch and recorded there mostly as well. Words and lyrics that were so true to my experience came pouring out of me effortlessly. Truly...by keeping my spirits up, having goals to reach and a purpose to live for, my music helped to heal me and keep me alive."

Angelina Jolie married?

If recent rumours are to be believed, Angelina Jolie is in love with a British billionaire, and they are planning to marry as well.

The Tomb Raider star has been romantically linked to a number of personalities after she and Brad Pitt ended their 12-year-long relationship in September 2016.

According to New Idea, Jolie and the mystery man held a"secret ceremony over the weekend in a romantic bid to show their commitment to each other."

The so-called source added: "Ange's new man has been desperate to prove his love and devotion to her and so suggested they have a 'wedding ceremony."

The unverified report went on claim that Pitt and Jolie's six children are happy for their mother. It apparently took place at her new man's LA mansion, in a garden surrounded by white flowers – Ange's favourite.

At least she is moving on with her life.
