Bloemfontein’s leading golfer, Dean Burmester, is set to leave the City of Roses early next month.

The golfer, who was born in Muture, Zimbabwe, and his family will be relocating to George in the Western Cape.

The 28-year-old was schooled and raised in Bloemfontein and had previously considered moving to Johannesburg in order to further his career.

The 2017 Tshwane Open champion, who finished in third during this past weekends’ Sunshine Tour Championship at Serengeti, told OFM Sport that it is a family decision to relocate.

“I am moving on to George. It’s just a family decision and hopefully we'll fall in love with George as much as much as I did with Bloem.”

Burmester is currently playing his golf out of Schoeman Park Golf Club.

At this stage it is believed that Fancourt is where Burmester will be calling home as from April.
