The 2018 Alfred Dunhill Championship tees off at Leopard Creek tomorrow morning as the event makes its return on the European Tour calendar.

Last year the event did not take place at the scenic course on the banks of the Crocodile River underwent a revamp.

While Charl Schwartzel is a four-time champion and runner-up, the renowned golf writer, Michael Vlismas, tells OFM Sport that all eyes will be on the SA Open champion, Louis Oosthuizen.

“It is always a week when it is very difficult for someone who is not a South Africa to win on this golf course, because the South Africans love it so much. So you do tend to look at the South African contingent.

“Louis Oosthuizen, you know if putts as well as he did last week at the South African Open, going to be very difficult to stop.

“Putting is key every week, but certainly more so this week on these greens which are very firm and fast.

“There is not much room just off the greens either, so if you are coming in and you haven’t found the right spot on the green either, those second shots on the greens are going to be very key on this golf course this week.

“If he has got those elements of his game right, his head is certainly in the right space, he will be tough to stop.

Oosthuizen is a two-time runner-up at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
