Bloemfontein - Idols host and rapper, Proverb, is no longer the only star in his family.
Not after last night when his father, doctor Tsatsi Thekisho, was named the top doctor in the Free State at the Free State Health Department's Service Excellence Awards in Bloemfontein.
The awards saw the province's top health officials and facilities honoured in a number of different categories.
The criteria to be considered the best doctor in the province included, among others, excellence in community service, going beyond the call of duty, good interpersonal relations, and using new research to inform best practice.
Dr Thekisho was overwhelmed by the win and ran straight to his clinical staff, saying he couldn't have rendered the service he does, without them.
