Bloemhof - Motorists travelling along the N12 towards Bloemhof in North West have been advised to use alternate routes if possible as protestors are stoning vehicles.
Police spokesperson Emelda Setlhako says the situation in Boitumelong township just outside Bloemhof is volatile.
Twenty people were arrested on charges of public violence yesterday.
Setlhako says protestors in the area attacked the mayor’s home to express unhappiness about service delivery issues and to call for the mayor to step down.
Setlhako says the suspects are expected to appear in the Bloemhof Magistrate’s Court later today or tomorrow.
