Pellissier murder suspect denied bail─── ANDRE GROBLER 15:37 Thu, 18 Aug 2016
Bloemfontein - The Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court has refused bail to a Turflaagte man suspected to be involved in the murder of a retired Transnet train driver of Pellissier.
Magistrate T.P. Dikotsi refused to grant bail to 23-year-old Kgotso Gigi and postponed the matter to 16 September for further investigations.
Hendrik Knoetze (73) was discovered by a neighbour in his house after not been seen for some days. He was found in a sitting position against his fridge in his kitchen, with his hands and feet tied together with ropes. Magistrate Dikotsi said Gigi could not show exceptional circumstances why he must be granted bail. Opposing bail, the case investigator also testified that most of the witnesses in the case was known to Gigi, such as his father, and that he could interfere with the investigation.
