Energy training programme on the cards for FS youth─── MOEKETSI MOGOTSI 10:55 Sun, 28 May 2017
Bloemfontein - The Department of Energy will issue a youth training project in Bloemfontein during the month of June as part of its efforts to tackle youth unemployment.
Minister of Energy, Mmamoloko Kubayi, made this announcement at the Energy Imbizo held at the Khayelitsha informal settlement in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
Kubayi said the programme would be a collaborative effort between the department and the local municipality.
“We will launch it with more details but what we have picked up in communities is that there’s not much interest in the sector or even knowledge in the sector. What we intend to do as the department is to generate interest so that young people can have interest in our portfolio,” she said.
