Bulk water project completed in Theunissen─── MOEKETSI MOGOTSI 14:28 Tue, 20 Jun 2017
Theunissen - The Department of Water and Sanitation in the Free State has announced the completion of a bulk water project that has been under construction in Theunissen since 2013.
The Head of the Department in the Free State province, Tseliso Ntili, says the reason for the construction of the new pipelines was to upgrade ageing infrastructure.
Ntili says the new system should be able to provide a constant and sufficient water supply to the wider Brandfort community.
“Because of the improved pump station the water which is being pumped will also start going to those high-lying areas where, in the past, we really had difficulties with the constant supply of water in Brandfort.”
Ntili says the project was highlighted as a priority by the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Nomvula Mokonyane, during the tabling of her budget vote in Parliament on 26 May 2017.
