Bloemfontein - A woman believed to be in her 40s died after being hit by a train at the railway line in Gardenia Park in Bloemfontein on Friday night.
It is reported that she was walking next to the tracks when the train struck her.
Netcare 911 spokesperson, Chris Botha, says paramedics declared her dead on the scene when they arrived at the railway line.
“We arrived there and found her lying on the ground with very traumatic injuries. The paramedics examined her and found that she had tragically died on impact before their arrival. The scene is being investigated by the police,” he says.
