NUM-YS march to Rustenburg municipality─── MOEKETSI MOGOTSI 10:47 Sat, 24 Jun 2017
Rustenburg - The National Union of Mineworker Youth Structure (NUM-YS) in the North West province is urging the local government to do more in assisting in youth empowerment.
NUM-YS national chairperson, Bonginkosi Mrasi, says the union will be marching to from the NUM Regional Office to the Rustenburg local municipality offices to deliver a memorandum of grievances this morning.
Mrasi says their memorandum will contain various issues which they hope the municipality can address urgently.
A public lecture will also be held at the Olympia Stadium following the march and hundreds of NUM young workers from all 11 regions in the province are expected to attend.
Former African National Congress Chief Whip, Motshekga Motshekga, will give a keynote address.
Other alliance leaders expected to attend include South African Communist Party (SACP) Provincial Secretary in North West Madoda Sambatha, Young Communist League (YCL) National Secretary, Mluleki Dlelanga, NUM Deputy President, Joseph Montisetse, Cosatu Deputy General Secretary, Solly Phetoe, as well as the SANCO Provincial Secretary in North West, Packet Seaketso.
