NGO to prioritise drought-stricken communities─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 15:54 Tue, 10 Oct 2017
Humanitarian aid organisation, The Gift of the Givers, says the drought situation in the country is alarming and remains one of the most pressing challenges that still need to be addressed.
The disaster relief organisation's founder, Imtiaz Sooliman, says in their celebration of serving others for 25 years, they still believe more needs to be achieved. Sooliman says over the next two years or so they will be involved in a number of drought relief projects and transporting animal feed to drought-stricken provinces.
This year on August 6 the organisation celebrated 25 years of serving others. Sooliman says it has been a great pleasure serving the continent and receiving support from members of the public.
He adds that as this year marks 25 years of helping those in need, they are hopeful that they will continue serving the country and neighbouring countries.
Sooliman further appeals to South Africans to unite despite racial and cultural differences. He urges South Africans to address the challenges faced in the country and assist where possible.
