NC ANC PGC on track─── 07:36 Sat, 18 Nov 2017
Upington - Just over 300 delegates will today convene in Upington for the ANC Northern Cape Provincial General Council (PGC).
Spokesperson Naledi Gaosekwe says the delegates include 197 branch delegates, the leagues of the ANC, the Alliance Partners as well as MDM formations.
She says the PGC takes place after peaceful and very successful BGM's were held across the province.
"The conference will consolidate the province's leadership nominations to the national conference but most importantly discuss the provinces policy proposals. These will assist in ensuring that the conference considers these discussions broadly and inclusively. The province made concrete proposals that were considered during the policy conference, we are confident that as a province we will be making proposals that will take this country forward."
Gaosekwe adds security measures are in place to ensure the smooth running of the PGC.
In May, the ANC's elective conference in Colesberg was marred by controversy when Premier Sylvia Lucas declined her nomination and Zamani Saul was elected.
