Hundreds of car theft cases reported in Potchefstroom this year─── JOSCA HUMAN 09:35 Mon, 20 Nov 2017
Over 300 cases of car theft have been reported between April and September in Potchefstroom this year.
This is according to a police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone. He says investigations have revealed that more bakkies than other vehicles are being targeted and stolen in parking lots during the night.
“It was also reported that some of the stolen vehicles were taken in for repairs. We are urging members of the community to report any cases of suspicious people in parking areas,” says Mokgwabone.
He also adds that people are being drugged before their vehicles are stolen from them. Police are urging people to avoid leaving their vehicles in parking lots. They also ask people to lock their gates at night time.
