Officials from the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality are at Mimosa Mall to attend to reports of fire which started in one of the stores at the mall.
According to municipal spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), as well as the Fire Brigade, are already on the scene to acsertain whether any people have been hurt and also to extinguish the fire.
Khedama also stated that there will be traffic officials to ensure that roads around the mall are not congested as a result of traffic that may arise from the fire.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson from the Free State Department of Health, Mondli Mvambi, has confirmed that so far there have been no reported injuries. Reports allege that the fire started at the Checkers store kitchen and is contained to that one store only for the time being.
The cause of the accident will form part of police investigation.
