Police in Bloemfontein have confirmed that the body of the missing Natasha Mans was found in a veld after she disappeared almost two weeks ago.

Police spokesperson, Chaka Marope says her body was found at 13:00 near a house in the Groenvlei area outside the city where she stayed with her boyfriend.

According to him, Mans’ body was discovered by her boyfriend under a tree near the house where she stayed with him. Marope says she had a gun-shot wound to the neck. A firearm was also found near her body. It is still too early to determine the cause of death. A police forensic team are still processing the scene.

Mans went missing on 31 May this year. According to reports she left the same house in Groenvlei allegedly with her boyfriend’s firearm. According to police Mans also allegedly left a note informing her family that she is leaving.

The search for the missing Natasha Mans intensified when the Community Police Forum of Bainsvlei became involved. Bainsvlei’s CPF started the search for Mans after being notified of her disappearance.

The search, which began a day after she was feared to be missing, involved a volunteer aeroplane, a police rescue dog and 20-30 volunteers who sought on foot. About 200 hectares of land was searched.
