CoGTA visiting distressed municipalities in FS─── JOSCA HUMAN 10:09 Thu, 21 Jun 2018
The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Zweli Mkhize, is visiting distressed and dysfunctional municipalities in the Free State on Friday.
The purpose of this meeting is to engage with the provincial government and municipalities on intervention programmes to support the nine municipalities in the province. Amongst the things that will be focused on is administrative leadership, political stability, have low vacancy rates and take regular reports back to the communities.
The visit forms part of the CoGTA Back to Basics programme, aimed at building functional municipalities.
The following nine municipalities identified as either being distressed or dysfunctional in the Free State;
- Mafube
- Masilonyana
- Maluti-A-Phofung
- Kopanong
- Letsemeng
- Mantsopa
- Nketoana
- Tokologo
- Mohokare
