Farmers across North West celebrate harvesting season─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 10:41 Thu, 19 Jul 2018
Hundreds of crop farmers across North West will celebrate a commendable harvesting season in the region, at the Waterford Farm next to the Mareetsane Village on Friday.
The Department of Rural, Environment and Agricultural Development in the province's, Tsholofelo Dintwe, says the celebration follows the successful launch of the department's Crop Massification Programme in the region.
She says a total of about 460 000 hectares of land has been used by farmers in the 2017/18 season to plant white maize and about 120 000 hectares for yellow maize.
The MEC for Rural, Environment and Agricultural Development, Manketsi Tlhape will also attend the celebrations.
