Mine worker fatally injured in FS─── 17:07 Thu, 19 Jul 2018
Harmony Gold Mining Company has reported that one of its employees was fatally injured in a fall of ground incident at its Tshepong mine in Welkom, Free State on Thursday.
Just nine days earlier, the gold miner reported a fatality at its Kusasalethu mine in Carletonville, were an employee was fatally injured in a fall of ground incident as well.
Harmony Gold Mining Company said in a statement that the Department of Mineral Resources has been informed of the latest incident and an investigation into the accident is underway. T
his comes after former minister of Mineral resources, Mosebenzi Zwane, encouraged mines, last year, to sharpen-up on their health and safety-measures after three mine-workers died at Harmony Gold-mine in the Free State.
