This is according to union member, Justice Sello, who told OFM News that they are unhappy with the nonchalance of the union’s regional, provincial and even national management has in recent months with specific regards to issues members in the private and public health sectors are faced with.

Sello said that as a result of this failure to act on urgent issues, the union’s membership in the region has declined from 10 000 to around 5 500 members. 

Issues he said they would be picketing against include the alleged failure on the union’s part to address member issues - including member retrenchments, the unconstitutional union disbanding of the regional structure as well as the alleged harassment of a former regional administrator by a senior union official.

The march will take start at 11:00, and the assembly point is at Bloemfontein’s Hoffman Square. From here members will march to the union’s provincial office, which is also in the Bloemfontein CBD.
