Two suspects will remain in custody after almost R700 000 worth of elephant tusks were found in their vehicle.

This comes after Douglas Matambandini and Moloki Moseko were arrested for the alleged possession of stolen elephant tusks in North West.

Police spokesperson, Aafje Botma, says the suspects were on their way to Klerksdorp when police did a stop and search. The police found six elephant tusks which were hidden underneath maize bags.
