Cape Town - Cyril Karabus, the Cape Town oncologist formerly detained in the United Arab Emirates, has sent a letter of demand to the company that runs the hospital he worked for, eNCA reported last night.
Karabus was reportedly considering suing the Canadian firm for not informing him that he faced a manslaughter charge.
Karabus was reportedly considering suing the Canadian firm for not informing him that he faced a manslaughter charge.
The charge arose from the death from leukaemia of a cancer patient Karabus had operated on while working as a locum in Abu Dhabi 12 years ago.
Karabus, who was tried and convicted in absentia and sentenced to three and a half years in prison, was arrested a year ago, en route to Dubai.
After a nine-month ordeal, he was acquitted.
