Johannesburg - All the judges, whose personal information was stolen during a break-in at the office of the Chief Justice in Midrand yesterday, have been given extra security or have been alerted.
The SABC reports that the perpetrators stole 15 computers from the human resources department that contain details about the country's judges, including where they live.
Meanwhile, Gauteng Judge Ramarumo Monama was held up at gunpoint at his home just a few hours after the computers were stolen.
Police have launched an investigating into the robbery.
Spokesperson in the Office of the Chief Justice, Nathi Mncube, says the running of the courts won't be affected by the theft, but stressed that the computers had very important information.
The break-in comes just one day after the Constitutional Court made a landmark ruling in the social grants case.
Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng has expressed deep concern at the theft of computers. He has called on the police to ensure that the culprits are brought to book.
