Khumalo recovering after injury on Everest─── 07:26 Sat, 27 May 2017
Johannesburg - South African Saray Khumalo, who was rescued on Mount Everest by helicopter on Thursday, is recovering well from her injuries.
Netwerk24 reported yesterday that the 45-year-old from Johannesburg was injured during inclement weather while she was trying to reach the summit. It was her third attempt.
The previous attempts had been scuppered by an earthquake in Nepal and an avalanche.
Her spokesperson, Sarieta Schultz, says Khumalo's spirits remained strong and that she was chatting in a Kathmandu hospital, where she is being treated.
She explains it's not clear yet exactly how Khumalo was injured but the frostbite in her hands was much better.
