UPDATED: Duduzane Zuma back in court | News Article

Former President Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane is back in court on Friday.

At his last appearance in August, the case was postponed to allow the defence time to study the docket.

Zuma faces charges of culpable homicide and an alternative count of negligence, in connection with a 2014 accident that resulted in the deaths of two people.

News24 reports on the day, he was driving his Porsche when it rear-ended a minibus taxi resulting in the death of Zimbabwean national, Phumzile Dube. At the time, he also had to pay R7,000 in speeding fines.

Another passenger, Nanki Jeanette Mashaba, who was injured in the accident, died in hospital a few weeks later.

In July 2014, the State declined to prosecute, saying there was insufficient evidence.

However, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) later changed its mind and summoned Duduzane to court.

UPDATE: The provisional trial dates is noted as 26 March 2019. The case is postponed until 08:30 and 24 January 2019 for pre-trial issues, says the Magistrate. Zuma is released on a warning
