Sappo said in a statement it has appointed former FNB business development manager for Africa and agriculture, Johann Kotzé, to take over from outgoing CEO Simon Streicher. Streicher is retiring after 17 years with the organisation.
Sappo Chairperson James Jenkinson says they are very lucky to have Kotzé join their team. He says not only does Kotzé bring a wealth of knowledge about the local farming sector to the position, he also understands the dynamics of business extremely well.
Kotzé also previously worked at Agri Wise Consulting, where he was involved in, among other things, strategic planning, financial solution initiatives, and risk analysing and mitigation. A major focus was also green field projects and the structuring of black economic empowerment partnerships.
Kotzé starts with the organisation on April 1.
