Police stations across the Free State are experiencing the second Covid-19 wave first-hand. Both the Bothaville and Excelsior Police Stations in the Free State have temporarily closed down due to Covid-19 related incidents.

Spokesperson Thando Mbambo says the Bothaville Police Station will operate from the conference room next to the police station. The Excelsior Police Station will work from no 11 Brebner Street, says Mbambo.

Furthermore, the police stations will undergo decontamination and communities will be notified once the police stations are operational, adds Mbambo.

She pleads with community members to contact the police station telephonically instead of going in to the branches, as this may cause overcrowding, thus increasing the spread of the virus.

In case of emergency, the Bothaville residents may contact the following numbers:

CSC: 056-514-9437

Station Commander: 071-683-8132

Vispol Commander: 082-466-7923*

Detective-Commander

082-466-7923/073-433-6679

The Excelsior Residents may contact:

Warrant Officer Ntatakazi: 082-466-8285

Warrant Officer Ntlele: 082-466-7916

On behalf of the Free State Management, Mbambo apologises for the inconvenience caused by the closure.
