The North West Department of Education has concluded the marking of grade 12 examination papers.
The department's spokesperson, Elias Malindi, says markers concluded marking of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations papers on Thursday.
The department commenced with marking the papers on 6 January amidst the second wave of Covid-19.
Malindi adds that the province had 2 626 markers in 17 of its marking centres under intense Covid-19 protocols.
Meanwhile, the MEC for education in the province, Wendy Matsemela, thanked markers for their time.
“Today (Thursday) we wrapped up marking of NSC scripts. I take this time to express my sincere gratitude to the heroes and heroines we have in the education sector, who selflessly gave their time to mark our candidates’ scripts in the midst of concerning Covid-19 times.
