Bank robbery foiled in Vaal Triangle─── 09:15 Sun, 09 May 2021
Vaal police in Gauteng are pleased after a bank robbery was foiled at the Eyethu Mall in Orange Farm near Vereeniging.
It is alleged a suspect, who police believe was not acting alone, approached a Capitec bank technician who was clearing ATM machines, under the pretence of being another technician.
It is further alleged that the imposter grabbed the bank technician and a fight ensued.
Subsequently police arrived and arrested the said suspect.
Vaal police spokesperson Tlaleng Moloi this morning appealed to members of the public to come forward with any information that will lead to the arrest of other individuals who may be involved in this act, while a case of attempted businesses robbery has been registered.
