The Northern Cape Department of Education has reported a total of 22 188 successfully processed learner registrations.
Parents were earlier reminded about the admission applications that should be made at the school of their choice.
The Northern Cape Department of Education spokesperson, Geoffrey van der Merwe, reported that a total of 22 188 successful processed registrations were completed by 16 June 2021. He further stated that more applications are still expected, as parents are left with 13 days to apply online for their children.
OFM News had previously reported that the schools in Northern Cape were requested to assist parents and learners to comply and register by 30 June 2021 for the 2022 academic year. Van der Merwe had earlier reported that the department has identified 150 walk-in centres across the province to assist parents to capture their applications, however, the usage of these centres are fairly low. He further pleaded with parents to apply in time in order to secure space at public schools.
