The MEC of Economics, Small Business Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs (Destea), Makalo Mohale, will be visiting the Inoseng Primary School at Petrusburg in the Free State on Thursday.

The MEC of Economics, Small Business Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs (Destea), Makalo Mohale, will be visiting the Inoseng Primary School at Petrusburg in the Free State on Thursday.

The spokesperson of Destea in the Free State, Kgotso Tau, says the MEC is expected to launch a customer care unit and hand over production assets to chosen entrepreneurs. He says this is part of the public celebration month in which the government is trying to promote and amplify satisfactory service delivery to the public. Tau tells OFM News the government is also trying to boost small business entrepreneurs in an attempt to curb the high employment rate that has devastated the province and the country at large.

"We accept that the Xhariep District is an economically depressed area and there is a need to give it a little bit of attention. That is why the informal businesses in this area would today be receiving some kind of support, in collaboration of Coca-Cola beverages of South Africa, where they are donating mobile kitchens," he adds.

Tau says he hopes this gesture will go a long way in sustaining these small businesses. He further said that Inoseng Primary School will also receive a fresh green look and feel part of Arbor Month, as more trees will be planted throughout the day.
