Ramaphosa: Mabuyane corruption allegations to be studied─── 07:07 Sun, 10 Oct 2021
President Cyril Ramaphosa says the corruption allegations against Eastern Cape Premier, Oscar Mabuyane, will be studied.
Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has concluded that Mabuyane improperly benefited from funds meant for a Winnie Madikizela-Mandela memorial service.
He was found to have pocketed at least R450 000 to renovate his home.
Ramaphosa says the matter will be looked at closely.
"In the Eastern Cape, I haven't seen the report myself, I have just read about it in the media and clearly it is a matter that has to be looked at closely and to be studied and put under consideration," he said.
