White delivered a pair of sixth positions in the opening races before ending third in the final Sunday afternoon.

"We had a really hard weekend, but an awesome weekend to finish it off with a podium at Monza," Stuart beamed on Sunday. "This weekend was one of the highlights of my racing career - to stand on the same podium where all the greats have stood and to have the honour to sign the podium register book afterwards and see all the signatures in there was a truly proud moment for me to be a South African on the world stage.

Stuart qualified 8th despite losing the tow after having to pit to replace his front wing, before climbing to sixth in race 1 and then repeating that position in the second race; but he put it on the podium with a fine third in the finale of only his second meeting in the series. "It was crazy, crazy racing," the Bloemfontein youngster admitted. "Monza has a huge slipstream effect if you are either busy passing someone or being passed - it made me think of Moto 3!

"I would like to thank all my supporters, my team Fantastic racing; Scott Sports Africa, Oxigen and Brand New, the FFSA French Formula 4 Academy and Etienne Roos and RKT, who laid the foundations of my racing career that have seen to my getting here - I am delighted to be able to deliver results like this!"

Stuart's next French Formula 4 appointment is precisely the opposite challenge to super fast Monza, when the French Formula 4 Academy Championship visits the ultra-tight Pau street circuit 20-21 May.
