The Free State Crinums get their 2018 Brutal Fruit Netball Premier League campaign underway on Friday with the opening round of the competition in Johannesburg.

The Free State has been home to the coveted netball trophy on 3 occasions between 2014 to 2016 before the Gauteng Jaguars won the title in 2017.

The Crinums will be hoping for a stellar 6 week competition in order to bring the silverware back to Central South Africa and it all starts on Friday.

The 3 time champions, this year led by captain Maryke Coetzee and coached by Burta de Kock, will put their best foot forward when they face the Mpumalanga Sunbirds in their opening clash.

The match, which will be played at the Ellis Park Indoor Arena gets underway at 18:00 on Friday evening while the KZN Kingdom Stars face the Norther Cape Diamonds before that at 16:00.
