Caster wins big at SA Sport Awards─── MORGAN PIEK 13:53 Mon, 12 Nov 2018
The two-time Olympic 800m gold medallist, Caster Semenya, stole the show in Bloemfontein on Sunday night during the annual South African Sports Awards.
Semenya won no less than three awards on the evening after she was named as the Sports Star of the Year, Sportswoman of the Year, and also voted to win the People’s Choice Award.
The star swimmer Chad le Clos also got recognition by winning the Sportsman of the Year award.
In some of the other awards last night, the national women’s football team, Banyana Banyana, was named as the Team of the Year, Semenya’s coach, Samuel Sepeng, was named as the Coach of the Year, and the swimmer, Tatjana Schoenmaker, was named as the Newcomer of the Year.

The Recreation body of the year: Mavu Sport Development
National Federation of the year: Softball
Schools team of the year: St Benedict’s College
Developing school of the year: Machakela-Mamodibo Secondary School
Sport Administrator of the Year: Virginia Mabaso
People's Choice Award: Caster Semenya
