OFM bringing Backstreet back on Backstreet Boys Day | News Article

OFM, the sound of your life in Central South Africa, is bringing Backstreet back with Backstreet Boys Day on Wednesday 25 July.

On this day, OFM will celebrate the music of one of the most iconic boy bands of all times.

From 08:00 to 18:00 listeners will be able to sing along to their favourite Backstreet Boys hits, including songs like “Larger Than Life”, “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)” and “I Want It That Way”.  A few lucky listeners will also win Backstreet Boys box sets to indulge their love of all things Backstreet for years to come.

Says OFM General Manager, Nick Efstathiou:  “A generation has grown up to the tunes of the Backstreet Boys.  I cannot think of the nineties without thinking of this boy band’s music.  They were one of the first boy bands to have incredible musical success and remains one of the most timeless groups.  I cannot think of a better way to honour their musical talents that with a day dedicated to their music!”

The Backstreet Boys started their musical career in Florida in the early nineties.  The group, consisting of AJ McLean, Howie D., Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell rose to superstardom with their third studio album Millennium and its follow-up album Black & Blue.

In 2006, Richardson left the group to pursue other interests but rejoined again in 2012 – much to their fans delight.

The group received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013 and have just released a brand-new hit “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”.
