The Toyota Cheetahs have earned successive bonus point wins over the Southern Kings in the Guinness Pro14, with a somewhat convincing 45-23 win in Bloemfontein.

The Cheetahs centre, Nico Lee, scored a brace of tries to take his tally to five in the past two games.

The home side ran in a total of six tries with Uzair Cassiem, Ox Nche, Makazole Mapimpi and Shaun Venter being the other men to cross the white-wash.

Mapimpi’s score was his 10th Pro14 try, and also sadly his last for the team as he will be linking up with the Sharks on Monday. If that’s not bad enough for the Cheetahs, the exciting Craig Barry, who has been on loan from Western Province, will also be leaving, but to link up with the Stormers.

It was also once again a 100% kicking display by Fred Zeilinga, with the flyhalf successfully slotting six conversions as well as a penalty.

The Cheetahs remain in third in Conference A, but are not just three points shy of the second placed Munster.

The side will take a short break before being prep for their tour of Wales and Scotland to face the Cardiff Blues, Ospreys and the tournament leaders, Glasgow Warriors. What counts in the Cheetahs favour is that those teams have lost players to their national squads for the upcoming Six Nations.

This Blues host the Cheetahs on February at Cardiff Arms Park in the Welsh capital city.

Scorers:

Toyota Cheetahs: Tries – Nico Lee 2, Uzair Cassiem, Ox Nche, Makazole Mapimpi, Shaun Venter Conv. – Fred Zeilinga 6 Pen. – Zeilinga

Southern Kings: Tries – Luzuko Vulindu, Schalk Ferreira, Tienie Burger Conv. – Ntabeni Dukisa 2, Benhard Janse van Rensburg Pen. – Dukisa
