Springbok coach and director of rugby Rassie Erasmus will be the man in the Barbarians pound seat come end of the year following his appointment as coach on Tuesday.

Erasmus appointment comes mere days after the Springboks pulled off their biggest win in years when they pipped the All Blacks 36-34 at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington.

The Barbarians will be taking on Argentina in the Killik Cup on Saturday the 1st of December and Erasmus will be expected to take the reigns of a squad filled with international rugby stars.

Also confirmed as part of the Barbarians squad is the Springbok's Handré Pollard, Eben Etzebeth and Tendai Mtawarira while Wallabies scrumhalf Will Genia is also expected to be in the mix.

The Barbarians side pulled off a record-breaking win over England earlier this year when the famous invitational side won 63-45.

With regards to Argentina's history against the black and white hoops of the Baa-Baa's, Los Pumas will be hoping for a repeat of 2015 when they beat the Barbarians 49-31 at the very home of rugby where this year's fixture will yet again take place.

The countdown to the 1st of December now begins.
